Leon: The Professional
Over the weekend I watched Leon: The Professional, one of my
favorite films of all time. (It’s free to screen on Pluto & Hulu, at least
for now!) The film was directed by Luc Besson and released in 1994 with a spectacular
cast like Jean Reno, Gary Oldman, and Natalie Portman. Every performance from
beginning to last is remarkable. I highly recommend taking advantage of this very
unique, and like all thrillers, very personal story. Here's a short clip ...

It gives me great pleasure to announce that the audiobook for CITY OF STONES is finally here, and it's awesome! 44 actors auditioned to read what has become a reader favorite in the Detective Matt Jones Thriller Series. There were so many talented people involved that it made the final decision almost impossible. In the end, it came down to three voices, three actors who had everything it takes to be the one and only Detective Matt Jones! But then the 45th audition came in, Mike Ortego, reading Chapter 4, which features Matt Jones being all that Matt Jones can be, and Chapter 8, where the river of magic between Matt and Dr. Julie May begins its way tumbling toward the waterfall!
Mike killed it! He had Matt down so right that I didn't want it to end. His read was so true and so authentic, I couldn’t even offer any advice for the recording sessions except to say keep doing exactly what you’re doing! CITY OF STONES, the audiobook, is amazing!
