Okay, so I opened the box and here they were! Proofs!!*?#!! of CITY OF STONES, Matt Jones’s 4th brush with death! A thriller and a chiller that knocks me down!
But what is it about proofs that amp up everything? Holding the book in my hand? The smell of ink and paper? The feel of the pages and the sound of them turning? Replaying the story in my head, chapter by chapter from the very beginning to the very end? Listening to the characters I’ve come to know and love speak to each other? Watching how they react in what, for most of the novel, is a desperate situation in which everybody’s life is being pushed to the edge?
Something wonderful happened this week. My email went crazy from people talking about CITY OF STONES—people I don’t even know—and I got that special feeling—which makes everything even more exciting!
June 2 can’t come fast enough! June 2!
